This position serves the Corporation by ensuring the Company’s Operations Manual policies, procedures and work practices comply with state and federal pipeline safety regulations. This is accomplished through direct support of the Company’s core values in the areas of Safety, Quality, Excellence, and Partnership with specific emphasis in the following areas:- Monitor, influence and provide public comments on the Company’s position for new, revised, and emerging state and federal pipeline safety regulations including 49 CFR Part 40, 190-193, 196, and 199; the Arizona Administrative Code; the Nevada Administrative Code; and the California Public Utilities Code and associated General Orders;- Actively determines the Company’s strategic direction for pipeline safety compliance;- Responsible for providing guidance and support for all pipeline safety related activities across the Company;- Represent the Company’s policy and procedural position at state and federal pipeline safety audits and manage the relationship with these public agencies;- Manages communications between division and district operations, public utilities commission pipeline safety staff, and various corporate support work groups for pipeline safety audits, incident investigations, and data requests; - Manage a team of pipeline safety professionals.The successful candidate for this position will have strong oral and written communications skills with a focused on technical writing and will demonstrate proficiency in the following competencies:- Decision Quality- Persuasive Communication- Business Acumen- Organizational Savvy- Manages ConflictThe Manager/Engineering Staff position is expected to conduct work in a manner that aligns with the Company’s mission of providing safe and reliable gas service in the communities we serve. This position reports to the Director/Engineering Services.
This position will report to the Codes and Standards Supervisor and will be part of the Engineering Services Department of Engineering Staff. The position will be based out of the Corporate office located at 5241 Spring Mountain Road in Las Vegas. Duties for this position may include any of the responsibilities listed below, but the primary focus will pertain to the review of distribution pipeline projects, technical support for the Uptime module of GIS related to MAOP, support of Operations Manual revisions related to pipeline design, and support of the Gas Operations Support Staff (GOSS) engineering training roadmap. Travel may be required to attend external training classes to develop knowledge related to the above, and to participate in industry workshops/conferences. Travel is generally limited to two or three occurrences per year.
