The Supervisor/Graphic Design is a visionary, strategic and performance-driven leader focused on delivering original and impactful print, digital, audio and video creatives. The role of the Supervisor/Graphic Design is both supervisory and actively engaged in the day-to-day execution of creative. This position is responsible for leading a creative team, ensuring their quality of work, developing creative guidelines, directing creative work and delivering creative materials that exceed the expectations of our internal customers. This position also manages external creative service providers, printers, and specialty suppliers and will be responsible for shaping brand standards and creating procedures to ensure all Southwest Gas products are brand appropriate.
The successful candidate will be extremely creative, motivated, possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, and thrive on positive interactions with internal customers and coworkers. Must be able to work in a collaborative environment with tight deadlines, multiple projects, and help guide the creative vision of internal clients while maintaining brand standards.
Serve as a creative design expert to internal team and Company management. Advise and provide recommendations on creative concepts to meet business objectives and customer expectations.
Develop creative concepts; leads an in-house creative team and participates in the execution of creative work. Manage the creative process from concept to completion.
Collaborate with internal customers to ensure business goals are translated into creative strategies.
Develop annual creative services operating plan and budget, including administering approved budget for outside suppliers and contractors.
Review, select and oversee outside creative service agencies, freelance graphic designers, photographers, printers, advertising agencies, audio/visual providers and specialty suppliers in the development and on-time, on-budget, on-brand delivery of creative content.
Develop and maintain Company brand standards; monitor the use of logos, marks, and taglines across various media to ensure compliance with brand standards. Provide training on Company brand standards to internal departments.
Develop collaborative relationships with internal customers from a variety of Company departments.
Supervise the department’s daily workflow, assign project workload, and monitor deadlines and budgets.
Coordinate the selection of locations and settings, and oversee the construction of set designs for photography and video production for Customer Engagement purposes.
Manage the Company’s monthly bill insert calendar; collaborate with internal departments on print production, schedules and distribution channels.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This position requires five to eight years of relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.
