  • Position Information

    Analyst I/Analyst II Accounting  (Property Accounting)
    The position in Property Accounting will provide administration of the Company’s annual construction expenditures; administration and approval of new general plant work orders; oversite of capitalization policy compliance; assists in the creation of capital work orders as well as conducts follow-up with company personnel to ensure timely closing of capital projects; ensures proper classification of capital assets; verifies daily interface from work management system to accounting system; has involvement in Company rate cases regarding its rate base investment; and performs other relevant analysis and duties.
     

    Responsibilities

    Depending on the candidate’s knowledge and experience in the accounting field, the successful candidate will have varying levels of responsibility for the following activities:

    • Provide analytical contribution to the development and maintenance of records necessary to accurately and efficiently provide management with information on all financial aspects of the Company for the functional accounting area.
    • Participate in the preparation of regulatory filings and various supporting schedules for internal and external reporting purposes, maintaining compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) requirements and regulations (e.g. ERISA, Security Exchange Commission (SEC), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), state and federal commissions, etc.)
    • Provide user support for company personnel regarding opening, monitoring, and closing of capital projects.
    • Conduct complex accounting research, analysis and work assignments in compliance with all corporate standard practices as well as contractual and legal requirements and regulations.
    • Prepare monthly journal entries timely to ensure they are completed before monthly deadlines; analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts.
    • Work with internal and external auditors on operational audits, financial audits, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
    • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
    • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree with a major emphasis in accounting is required.  This position requires the demonstration of a high level of analytic problem solving, knowledge of Oracle EBS Suite software and spreadsheets.  In addition, this position requires the demonstration of technical writing ability.

     

    Analyst I position requires a minimum of one year of relevant accounting-related work experience

    Analyst II position requires a minimum of three years of relevant accounting-related work experience. 

     

    Moderate to advanced Excel skills are required.  PowerPlan application experience is a plus. 

    Salary Details

    Analyst I: $54,590 - $68,237
    Analyst II: $61,494 - $76,868
