The Manager/Engineering/Southern Nevada manages and directs all division engineering activities to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, safety measures, Company and customer needs.
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant/employee who performs a DOT covered function or is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle for the Company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company’s DOT drug and alcohol testing programs. Any employment, transfer, or promotion offer made for this position is contingent upon taking and passing a drug test prior to the commencement of the new role. If an applicant/employee fails the drug test, any offer of employment, transfer, or promotion will be revoked.
Manage the Geographic Information System, drawing and as-built retention activities
Manage the engineering and coordination of large new business, system improvement, and franchise improvement projects
Preparation of annual budget, three year plan and monthly forecasts, including capital projection for other departments
Review and authorize capital work requests and design/construct drawings
Manage code compliance related activities, including incident reports and involvement in internal and ACC, CPUC, and PUCN audits
Manage system planning and analyses for the Division to maintain system integrity and support growth
Manage the Division’s integrity management activities and related action plans
Recruit, interview and select candidates for engineer and intern positions
Direct, motivate, train and evaluate staff members
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university, or related field and seven to ten years of relevant work experience.
Experience in natural gas design and/or the gas industry preferred.
