  • Position Information

    The incumbent is responsible for functional, division-based support in various areas of Human Resources including recruitment and employment, employee relations, performance management, job evaluation, wage and salary administration, records administration, benefits administration, training and development, EEO/AAP, and special projects.  This position is a liaison with Corporate Human Resources and Payroll.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Under minimal supervision and with appreciable latitude for actions and decisions, has responsibility for all aspects of difficult projects that are broad in nature and require evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity
    • Prepares for, conducts, or advises on contract negotiations
    • Drafts or assists in the preparation of labor agreements and briefs for arbitration cases
    • Advises on the administration of labor agreements, the handling of grievances, applications of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Labor Management Relations Act, and other federal and state legislation
    • Maintains contact with Company management to ensure continuity and direction toward the organization’s labor relations objectives
    • Represents the organization in dealings with government agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board and the Wage-Hour Division of the Bureau of Labor
    • Administer division-based recruitment and employment activities, including but not limited to applicant recruitment, identification, evaluation, interview and referral
    • Administer employee training and development programs, including providing human resource orientation and training to all levels of employees as needed
    • Administer employee relations and performance management processes, including coaching, counseling, investigating, conferring, recommending, reporting and auditing as required
    • Implement and support division level, corporate-driven human resources processes including but not limited to wage and salary administration; benefits administration; EEO/AAP; substance abuse and drug testing
    • Counsel employees on career objectives, personal or work-related matters which may affect job performance or employment status
    • Act as a facilitator and liaison between management and employees on issues
    • Conduct research and analysis, working with multiple division-based and/or corporate departments and making recommendations to achieve problem resolution
    • Prepare and review various reports and filings with state and federal regulatory agencies
    • Interpret, apply, explain and enforce applicable human resource policies and procedures
    • Conduct work assignments in compliance with all corporate standard practices as well as contractual and legal requirements (e.g., contract terms, state and federal employment laws, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, etc.)
    • Provide leadership, motivation and training to employees within the department
    • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
    • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

    Minimum Qualifications

    Generalist II

    This position requires three to five years of relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities. Must possess a valid driver's license.

     

    Generalist III

    This position requires four to six years of relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.

     

    Professional in Human Resource (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR) certification preferred.

    Salary Details

    Generalist II/Human Resources: $61,641 - $77,051
    Generalist III/Human Resources: $68,548 - $85,685
