Position Information

The Mgr/Key Account Management (KAM) is responsible for creating custom contracts tailored to each specific project, evaluating projects for capital recovery, mitigating risk of customer non-performance, representing the Key Customer group on internal project teams, overseeing others who negotiate special contracts, and representing the Company in certain trade and professional organizations.


  • Manage the negotiation and preparation of all gas transportation and incremental facility agreements in accordance with department guidelines and tariff requirements
  • Work with Legal, Rates and department personnel to develop custom contracts to meet the unique needs of Key customers
  • Develop department policies in coordination with Rates, Legal, Gas Purchases and Transportation, Systems Planning, Division management, and KAM department personnel that address administration of the tariffs, recovery of invested capital, and management of credit and performance risk of KAM customers
  • Provide guidance and oversight for the development and the implementation of programs for large customers to ensure such programs follow the respective state tariff and meet corporate goals
  • Review contracts for each customer for completeness, accuracy and compliance with department practices
  • Ensure contracts meet Company goals for margin growth, capital recovery and management of risk
  • Manage risk of investment in facilities to serve KAM customers
  • Manage the department's support of key company initiatives such as acquiring Renewable Natural Gas and the expansion of CNG service options
  • Serve on numerous internal committees and project teams that involve key customers
  • Represent the Company in professional and trade organizations
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to perform this job.  This position requires seven to ten years of relevant work experience in the utility industry plus a bachelor’s degree in a related field and prior supervisory experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.  Substantive experience with contracts and building customer relations required.


Degrees in engineering and business management plus professional designations (CEM, CEA, PE or similar) are preferred.  Experience in key customer management preferred.  

Salary Details

$113,988 - $142,485
