Position Information

The Analyst III/Technical Infrastructure is an individual contributor in the Technical Services area of the Information Services department. The Analyst III manages all networking components for the company.  This position will be responsible for the installation, configuration, support, and trouble-shooting of the entire network throughout the three-state territory of Nevada, Arizona, and California.


  • Participate with Application Services, project managers, and support group personnel and/or business areas in capturing technical requirements (including performance and capacity) for topics assigned (hardware, databases, end user devices, security, backup, retention and recovery, application integration, other) and analyze alternatives using Company methodology (cost/benefit, risk, etc.)
  • Document specific technical requirements for voice and data networks and related equipment and services, including LAN/WAN, wireless/cellular, network-based security and services, and
  • other network technologies, as assigned
  • Perform research on technical topics as input to analysis and decisions
  • Participate in confirming use of existing infrastructure to meet requirements or work with Technical Architecture Services to identify needs for new types of infrastructure or services
  • Assist in developing and maintaining capacity plans for assigned infrastructure components (processors, storage, network, other)
  • Prepare specifications for infrastructure and network components when appropriate
  • Research and evaluate product and service alternatives for topics assigned using appropriate methodology and document recommendations
  • Participate in problem diagnosis and resolution on a timely basis
  • Participate in the analysis, prioritization and development of change requests, upgrades and patches, and maintenance actions
  • Provide on-call support when assigned
  • Maintain assigned I/S records, including asset and configuration management records and government licensing and circuit/service records, as assigned
  • Participate in managing life cycle support (maintenance, relocation, decommissioning and disposal) of assigned infrastructure, including towers, dishes, and other network equipment
  • Participate in  technology  recovery  and  departmental  emergency  management  planning, rehearsals and execution when assigned
  • Perform the configuration and planned testing of assigned system and technology products needed to implement documented requirements (infrastructure and network, databases, security, data management, other)
  • Perform the turnover of tested infrastructure items and related documentation for production use
  • Participate in managing vendor relationships, including telecom, internet, security and others, as assigned
  • Communicate with and participate effectively in project teams, work groups, support groups, business areas, and with suppliers, as appropriate, keeping department and project team personnel informed on progress and problems
  • Plan individual work to achieve expected scope, schedule and deliverables
  • Understand and utilize appropriate  I/S  strategic  plans,  policies,  practices,  methodology, standards and tools
  • Participate in designing, conducting, and receiving training for I/S personnel
  • Be a source of knowledge and expertise in one or more functional and/or technical topics briefings and research reports as appropriate
  • Gain appropriate knowledge of the business processes and organization in the areas being supported
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

Minimum Qualifications

There are clear precedents and practices which the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. This position requires four to six years of relevant work experience.


A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or progress towards a degree is preferred. Industry recognized certification(s) relevant to responsibilities are preferred. Incumbents performing activities requiring government, regulatory or vendor certification must keep those certifications current.


Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • Experience managing Cisco routers and switches for an enterprise with multiple locations
  • BPG, EIGRP, OSPF routing protocols
  • HSRP, Spanning Tree, VXLAN, OTV, and VLAN switching technologies
  • Network management (SNMP, Netflow, Cisco AVC, syslog) using Cisco Prime, SIEM or Solarwinds
  • Network and server virtualization utilizing VMware NSX and/or Cisco ACI
  • Load Balancing for local (LTM) and global (GTM) topologies using F5
  • Exposure to security features such as DMVPN, IPSEC, Encryption and certificates using Checkpoint, Cisco ISE, Trustsec and other networksecurity methodologies
  • Documentation skills and ITIL operations
  • CCNP certification or equivalent


Salary Details

Salary Range: $75,968 - $94,960
