  • Position Information

    The Business Design Analyst (BDA) has a solid understanding of UX/UI best practices and works closely with internal customers, design agencies and consultants, and IT stakeholders to convert internal business units’ content into blueprints for optimal user experiences on various customer-facing communication channels. The BDA analyzes business objectives and gathers systems information to design user experiences that enhance customers’ satisfaction with their interaction with Southwest Gas’ digital channels. The successful BDA is experienced with marketing channels and have outstanding leadership and communication skills.


    • Consult with key decision makers to translate business needs into clearly defined requirements for the business content and development teams, as part of designing the optimal user experience with business content. Create wireframes, mock ups, layouts and user flows related to application enhancements to create functionality and features that deliver exceptional user experiences.
    • Working with members of the creative, technical and digital teams, translate business content into actual designs, user flows and experiential concepts.
    • Establish functional and business requirements through interviews, surveys, workflow charts, diagrams, user stories and specifications.
    • Work closely with internal business and technical stakeholders to implement projects related to the company’s content management systems, CRM as well as enterprise communications and customer engagement platforms.
    • Provide key insights to critical business challenges and assess new opportunities by conducting design iterations based on usability & functional testing during different phases of development.
    • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, develop high-level information into actionable details and distill granular information into high-level executive summaries.
    • Transform data into meaningful analytics and insights to measure performance behind each effort. Analyze data to understand customer behavior and user experiences across multiple digital channels and identify opportunities for improvement. Create regular dashboard reports.
    • Actively builds relationships with internal department. Act as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and management. Coordinate SMEs for assigned activities and escalate issues when needed.
    • Plan, facilitate and coordinate activities of assigned tasks within projects to ensure that business requirements remain in scope of assignment and are completed within prescribed timelines.

    Minimum Qualifications

    This position requires 4-6 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field from an accredited university.




    Business Analyst Professional certification, proficiency in Microsoft Project and Visio or equivalent; experience with screen design tools and Marketing experience.


    Salary Details

    Salary Range: $68,548 - $85,685
